Stunning 3D re-enactment of D-Day coming to Llandudno late this year!
Stunning 3D re-enactment of D-Day coming to Llandudno late this year!

We will focus on the Veterans, their Families & the UK Needleworkers who perhaps can’t ravel to Normandy. We will also work with schools & children’s activity groups to help us make Poppy cascades & arches to make visitors aware that ‘Llandudno Goes the Extra Mile’.

All about legacy for the Community & the Town, FOMS plan to support Blind Veterans UK whose residential home is in Craig y Don, St David’s Hospice & hopefully Tŷ Gobaith through support events. We will also have brought crafters together to make poppy cascades & historic depictions combatting social exclusion just a little, showcasing crafting skills. The resulting artworks can be used by our local museum, archives & library to interpret Wartime Llandudno & neighbouring Conwy for adults & children alike in an accessible & fun format for years to come.

We have a crafters group already at work through FOMS who have chosen LlanDuDno D Day Crafters as their crew name. They are currently making a poppy arch & figures. A major wool manufacturer may be coming inboard to support our efforts with donated wool.

If people are happy to help with the Longest Yarn – Llandudno, doers of all kinds, there are many volunteer roles that will crop up including but not limited to knitting & crocheting please email: friendsofmostynstreet.co.uk or join our Facebook group and DM an admin: http://www.fb.com/groups/FOMSLlandudno

FOMS IS NOT 12 MONTHS OLD YET! But this has to be one of the most exciting & meaningful projects to be involved with.

We continue to do the maintenance of the Town throughout whilst looking for projects to uplift us all even in these challenging economic times.
